In 2013 the Government changed Permitted Development Rights and made it possible to convert existing offices into apartments without having to apply for full planning permission.
Many of our clients own office buildings and the Owner at No. 2 & 3 Castle Row Commissioned BMAD to establish prior approval from the local council and design 6 no. luxury apartments, 3 in each building.
This project was completed in April 2015 and was an outstanding success commercially for the developer. The specification used through the apartments adds an extra dimension to the look and feel of each apartment. The use of Real Oak flooring, skirting boards, architraves and doors highlight the use of quality materials.
The bathrooms are seamless, designed as wet rooms with high quality brassware and sanitary ware. The lighting control and use of recessed frameless fittings and brushed stainless steel accessories set a refined character to the spaces.
The general upgrade of the external envelope, use of air source heat pumps and air conditioning mean the conversion is efficient and a comfortable environment to live in at all times.
